Description

Brewing Technology introduces students to comprehensive knowledge & skills of the science and technology for the composition and manufacture of beer & wine processing. Students will get a deep & detailed theoretical understanding of the role of the raw ingredients of beer & wine production such as water, fermentable materials, flavouring materials, yeasts and bacteria and the processes by which these are used in beer & wine formulation and production. Quality control, Quality assurance aspects of Beer & wines will be studied comprehensively. Students will be engaged in sensory classes, compulsory visits to industrial sites including maltings, wine making plants, large and small-scale breweries. Through Practical exercises in brewing at small and intermediate scales, students will become familiar with all aspects of beer & wine production, and be able to design, brew and evaluate beers & wines.
Graduates of this certificate can enroll for a diploma, opening a career into Food science & technology, Quality assurance & Quality control, Food safety & management. Graduates are employable in Breweries & wineries, Food Analytical laboratories.
